Amusing ourselves to debt

Issue #037

GM ๐Ÿฉ

This is Andrew's Apples, a small white bag of four fresh *fruits* to nourish your soul and make you feel great. Like when you met your first crush by the red swing set. All this in under 2 minutes. Let's go picking.

  1. ๐Ÿงด Paraben there, done that. Your shampoo probably sucks. There is thick research on parabens, chemicals found in many "bodega" body care products, being linked to castration agents in males (yes, castration lol) and breast cancer inducers in both sexes. No bueno. Read the ingredients before you put stuff on and in your body and carry on, friend.

  2. ๐Ÿค Skin deep dive. A woman in a past life got me on this brand of skincare. Clinical formulations at laughably low prices. Seems unfair. Seems fake. The late founder was a bit of a lunatic, so you know the product is good (Apple, WeWork, Tesla are other examples). I like the squalane and the moisturizer in particular, but they're all solid. When you really look around, especially at men, people have terribly dry and stiff skin. The skin is by and large an outward expression of what is happening underneath. And this stuff will make your face look like a dewy, elfin fairy, floating near a misty waterfall. Believe in this magic.

  3. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Amusing ourselves to debt. It's not them, it's you. A lot of George Orwell (namely 1984) references have bubbled up in articles and "think pieces" over the past 24 months. And rightly so, even if it's a blunt instrument to describe the recent goings on. Lockdowns, vaccine/mask mandates, an unusual election, obesity up, suicide up, inflation up, and the general malaise of beginning a new chapter no one asked for. Meanwhile a select few went about, business as usual, collecting capital and power, at the expense of the hair cutters and the bus drivers. BUT: a lot of this is still not them, it's us. Aldous Huxley (Brave New World), as opposed to Orwell, thought our demise rather would be of our own doing: drugging ourselves with Entertainment and actual drugs to the point where we don't much care what the elites do. Burn the books and replace with TikTok; erase approaching strangers (an action, thus scary and undoable) and instead write the code to a dating app which requires no work; shatter the window of public discourse and sell the shards to the online vermin. It's all making us softer and fatter. I say: find positive cash-flowing amusement, because we're in debt.

  4. ๐Ÿ‘ต That was my mom. This tweet below. I hope reading Apples will extend your mom's life a bit, treating right the very body you came from as the vehicle for her beautiful soul. Let me be clear - if you have left the nest and live in a different state, you on average will see your parents less than 100 more times before lights-out. It takes 2 seconds to use this easy calculator. Now call her to say hiii, and to book your plane ticket.

How do you like them Apples? Suggestions? Hate me? If you ever need anything, hit reply.

Your friend,

Andrew๐ŸŽ

Tink: dewy skin, light on her feet, a illuminating glow, fiercely independent, and had the spine to stand up to Capt. Hook... more than just fairy dust
