fat and hapless

Issue #178

Habits start as cobwebs, and grow to be cables.

Spanish proverb

Morning ๐Ÿฆ This is Andrew's Apples. A shortie for Saturday. Hereโ€™s a free lesson: true self help is actually self destruction (i.e. why the most powerful military in the history of man spends so much time trying to break its warriors down).

๐Ÿš๏ธ Fat and hapless. Overweight individuals are depressed. The fatter they are, the more likely they are to be depressed. Full stop. Because their diets are by and large comprised of highly refined carbs, they are low in tryptophan. And tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin, a hormone that would lift them out of their own hell. It has been shown that 1-3g of tryptophan (an amino acid) before meals clears this up in no time. Pair that with fasting - perhaps the best $0 health protocol in the human toolkit - and walking 10,000 steps a day, and an individual can look and feel unrecognizable in mere weeks. ๐ŸŽAndrew's Take. My hot take here is that overweight people are addicts, but not solely in the way you might guess. Yes, they are often addicted to bad hyperpalatable foods and to a sedentary lifestyleโ€ฆ but they are MORE addicted to the victim mentality. That is, the opposite of taking responsibility for their own health. Fitness feels good but because the human animal is an inherently lazy beast (more cat than dog), the feeling of โ€œwoe is meโ€ is way more attractive to the brain.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Tweet of the Day. We as a culture will look back at this whole โ€œdude why are you working out? insecure much??โ€ in a few years and laugh maniacally.

How about them Apples? Hit me with any comments or questions or hate speech.
