Alone on your phone
Issue #002
Hey hotties π₯
Here's your daily dose of Andrew's Apples, a small white bag of four fresh *fruits* to nourish your soul and make you feel great. Let's go picking.
πΈ Lotus in the mud. The past two years have been a drag for most. I don't know a single person who didn't lose someone or get broken up with or get fat or get fired or get depressed. Let's call it the Covid Mud. But as Stewie Griffin said: the world keeps spinning. Beautiful days lie ahead, filled with vibrant colors, singing birds, schmaltzy Jeff Bezos tweets, old movies, and meeting your future spouse at the pencil sharpener. Chin up.
π’οΈ Skip the sugar and seed oils. There's a cringe poster hanging inside my gym that reads: sweat is fat crying. Lol. And the best way to get fat is to not move, b*tch about the news, and inhale copious amounts of sugar and seed oils. The tldr is something like: consume seed oils > inflammation+oxidation > mitochondria get rocked > metabolic disease odds skyrocket. Forget the science tho: you'll look like George from The Wedding Singer.
π€³ Alone on your phone. My old yoga teacher in Brooklyn always said this (mf was jacked, no shrimpy soyboi shit, held a handstand for days, totally present). Every time you surf your phone, you are no doubt alone. You tell yourself you're "connecting" - nah. People in this country are getting increasingly anti-social, even if they go out all the time. Try instead calling a friend when you feel the vortex suck... they'll pick up because they're bored and this WFH game is a racket.
π΄ Listen to dad (and his dad). In my experience, older men have a way giving good advice simply and elegantly. They spent their earlier years blathering ad nauseum to get a point across or to make someone think they're smart. But cut the BS. Some gems from dads: find new friends; wake up earlier; read a book; date hotter people; and my favorite: get a job! If you're lucky enough to have a good dad, pick him over yet another rambling Jordan Peterson audiobook.
How do you like them Apples? Any bad apples? Suggestions? Hit me with any queries.
Love,
Andrew π
