The Pain Teacher
Issue #108
Don't bunt.
Good morning π¦ This is Andrew's Apples, the health newsletter that is too dumb to be a Substack. Gimme 2 min. Let's go.
π Vitamin Does the trick! Recent research assessing the effectiveness of vitamin D supplementation for the prevention of COVID-19 in frontline health care workers found only 6.4% of those taking vitamin D tested positive for COVID, compared to 24.5% of controls.
π Andrew's Take. Fauci and Obama both keep getting Covid... that's all you need to know lol. The shots by and large are not saving anybody from getting the virus. Direct sun exposure is better than Vitamin D oral supplementation b/c it triggers both D and melatonin production inside your mitochondria. A sublingual melatonin spray will help you sleep deeper and is tied to milder symptoms/lower mortality. Folks, again, basic shit.
π€ The Pain Teacher. Holistic health trainer Paul Chek says that how you handle pain will dictate how healthy youβll be physically and mentally throughout your entire life. In other words, Pain is the ultimate Teacher. Strong 'students' are built in this teacher's 'classroom.'
π Andrew's Take. I will say something a little wild: I do not think self-love is a real thing. By definition, self-love is fixed since you are yourself only in that very moment, changing literally the next minute, month, and decade. You cannot love yourself all the time unless you do not change, which is not possible. So? All one can do is strengthen their genetic potential, passing on KILLER genes to the next generation. That is a much more linear path than shoehorning "self-love" into every single life experience. Movement is the mother of all medicine: lock into Drive (ascension) or Reverse (pain teacher) mode, but forget the Break Pedal.
πΉ Hangover pills. So a new pill called Myrkl is being sold in the UK, and its manufacturer says itβs the βfirst product in history to break down alcohol effectively.β You take 2 pills right before drinking, then Myrkl allegedly breaks down 50% of the alcohol you consume in the first half-hour of drinking , and 70% after an hour. "So it prevents hangovers by preventing intoxication in the first place." The key ingredients are probiotics (which break alcohol down to H2O and CO2 before reaching the liver) and vitamin B12 helps with waking up the next morning.
π Andrew's Take. I am skeptical until I see more. Hangover cures are nothing new. You can buy probiotic strains and vitamin B12 on amazon, no problem. Only human folly can tirelessly try to invent ways to have your cake and eat it too. Every other animal in the kingdom intuits that there is no such thing as a consequence-free "hack". Although my dad does say that even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and again. True. But that's luck (or, probability) ... not a manmade hangover pill designed to skip to the good ending.
ποΈ Tweet of the Day. You know when people say Be yourself or Think for yourself, how often is that advice taken and implemented. Ever? Lmao! Would most people be able to do it even if they really really really tried, or is their cognitive instrument so clogged with the bile of others that the resulting sounds are unrecognizable? Faint whistles in the wind.

How about them Apples? Hit me with any comments or questions. Love hearing from y'all.
Your friend,
Andrewπ
