Highest ROI supplement
Issue #129
βYouβre not dying, you just canβt think of anything good to do.β
Good morning π¦ This is Andrew's Apples, the 2-min health email that goes heavy. Let's go.
π Highest ROI supplement. Creatine (~5g/day aka about one tablespoon) will improve your strength and increase muscle mass (men and women). It will also sharpen your focus and give you more energy. Highly effective; quality/brand does NOT matter (any creatine monohydrate will suffice); finally, it is the most researched supplement on the planet (virtually zero downside). No reason not to take a spoon every morning and/or before exercise.
π Andrew's Take. I bodybuilder friend of mine (weighs ~190 and can bench around 415) always said that the only supplements that 100% work for building muscle are creatine, protein, and... steroids. Lol. Everything else is very contingent on the user taking it, the associated scientific studies, and the quality of the nutrient.
ποΈββοΈ Optimal time to exercise. People will bitch and moan for centuries over what time is the best time to exercise during the day/night. Lots of new research still has not made up its mind on this subject. And so long as Twitter and prestige media exist, we will never have an ironclad answer to this age-old topic.
π Andrew's Take. So? Work out whenever you make the time for it. Before the birds start singing or once the birds go to sleep. Wake up at 3am like a madman to get a pump. It is does not matter. These are precious brain cells we are unnecessarily lighting on fire over something that is actually simple.
π Already been chewed gum. "Maximize your facial aesthetics, increase your bite force, and enjoy numerous health benefits by chewing a natural supergum that has been around for centuries." They call it Chios Mastic gum. It is an ancient chewing gum, made from the resin of tree bark that is only found on the Greek island of Chios. Muscular-looking jawline, improved breathing, and antioxidant properties make it a much more compelling chew than Bazooka Joe. Bonuses: stress relief, better oral hygiene, and a healthier gut.
π Andrew's Take. This brand is quite popular. It tastes bitter for the first few minutes but then has a pleasant cedar-like taste. During the Bronze Age, the villagers of Chios called it "white gold."
