WE BACK, HI! 🦁 This is Andrew's Apples, the health email that is more honest than a jaded guy about to quit his dead-end job. Gimme 2 min and let's go picking. 

1. 🦍 Pro on protein. Stupid-simple rule on protein for gaining muscle: 1 gram per pound of body weight. You'll sleep better, perform better, be fuller, who knows maybe even be less annoying online and IRL! Love y'all.

2. 🤕 Mental health going mental. Over the weekend, mental health startup Cerebral (valued at $4.8 billion) disclosed that it has been served with a subpoena by federal prosecutors. The claim: the company's been way too quick to prescribe amphetamines to patients. Access to mental health services? Good. Barrier-free access to uppers so the docs can move on to the next 'widget'? Not so fast. "Clinicians who work with Cerebral said they felt pressured to prescribe patients stimulants to treat ADHD after half-hour-long evaluations." As a business owner, I can say it's way easier to generate revenue with a daily pill than it is with meditation and holotropic breathing exercises, lmao. But we have to ask ourselves: can a business productize mental health? Or is this just Facebook trying to 'connect the world'?

3. 💉 Put away your Johnson. CDC/FDA just restricted the J&J vaccine due to blood clot risk. Can't make this stuff up, folks. Lol! Full disclosure: I got the J&J before moving back to NYC in 2021, so I am not anti-vax nor anti-anti-vax. On this particular issue, it appears the "conspiracy theorists" were right. That's a hard pill for many to swallow. Here is our resident world-saver Bill Gates lying through his teeth about knowledge of fatality rates, conveniently after he already made his bag with investments into the vaccine-makers. I should note that these videos, albeit just days old and fairly important given his status, seem to be buried on YouTube. Took several clicks and they have merely dozens of views... Hmmm. Make up your own mind but my eyebrows are stuck in my forehead.

4. 🧪 Pick your poison. This tweet below. Organic food remains 20%+ more expensive than conventional. We wonder why everyone has a limp in places where Applebee's is the best game in town...
