Truth: where you at?

🧙‍♂️ Truth: where you at? American trust in institutions is at a new low of 27%. The biggest declines in the last year have been with the Presidency (15 pts) and the Supreme Court (11 points), followed by the medical system and banks. In absolute terms, the institutions with the lowest confidence include Congress and TV news. Regardless of political affiliation, confidence is by and large down in every category. That has not happened before. Safe to say: they are failing us. One way to illustrate the overall quality of a society is the health of said society. Obesity up, chronic disease up, mental illness way up. So what is up? 🍎 Andrew's Take. The blue/red dividing lines will soon be no longer. The divide will be replaced with Pro- and Anti-Institution. We already saw this with Occupy Wall Street in 2011, the Trump phenomenon in 2016, Covid-19 in 2020 (ongoing). My question as far as health goes is this: since accreditation/IQ and peer-reviewed lab work/requisite financial resources are shared on both sides of an argument, what do we then rely on? In other words, when the lefty and the righty both have PhDs from Harvard and they both have well-funded biased experiments confirming their style of truth, where do I go? The answer is an ancient one and one that our ancestors knew much better than we do today: INTUITION. To the math weenies out there who say Hey man that's not quantifiable!, I say "how much do you love your family and close friends?" A lot, huh? Quantify it for me. Give me a number. I'll wait.
