The vegetarian at Thanksgiving
Issue #035
Hey Tiger 🐯
This is Andrew's Apples, a small white bag of four fresh *fruits* to nourish your soul and make you feel great. Like watching a Wes Anderson motion picture in a leather recliner. All this in under 2 minutes. Let's go picking.
😫 Curcumin prevents man boobs. Curcumin, a bright yellow chemical produced by the turmeric plant, improves detoxification of estrogen, helps sore joints, and corrects abnormal blood lipid profiles. They'll hook it up at your local Indian food joint.
🧬 LIFE IS short, KID. Great essay of the same name from 2016. Best line: "Relentlessly prune bullshit, don't wait to do things that matter, and savor the time you have." Prune the breezy workouts, don't wait to reclaim your AIM screen name, and savor the hard things to be less soft. Real example: life is short, so watch The Office (goat), not Parks & Rec.
🥬 The vegetarian at Thanksgiving. Of all people, I get it. I at one point was a vegetarian, at another point a strict Paleo nut, and even a waifish vegan in a past life. My diet today is disciplined but ultimately nonrestrictive. It makes me feel and sleep the best. Idk man! But vegetarians: if you choose this dietary lifestyle, you must supplement with zinc, B6, B9, and B12 - at minimum. If you lift weights, add BCAAs to the mix. In brief, without supplementation and/or painstaking rigor, the deficiencies often lead to difficulty in producing androgens (growth hormones) and difficulty in recovering from training. And, yes, I've seen the pro-vegan athlete documentary The Game Changers... very biased like most docs. Just how it goes. Only thing I'll say is those competitors no doubt took their vitamins.
🛢️ Dark tanning oil. This tweet below. I'll stick solely to the economic side of this argument. Restaurants operate on razor-thin margins > oxidized seed oils are cheaper than dirt; dairy butter relatively is way more expensive > so unless it's a traditional French restaurant, you can assume back-of-house be smothering your food in canola/soybean/peanut oil. Goodnight.

How do you like them Apples? Suggestions? Hate me? If you ever need anything, hit reply.
Your friend,
