No stress

they promote the slum, the shantytown, "civilization," the locust default existence of mankind.

GM 🦁 This is Andrew's Apples, the 2-min health email that doubles as a tiny finger-shot of adrenochrome. Let's go.

  • No stress. There are different kinds of stress. Eustress is the good kind of stress that you want on a daily basis to keep you going (think exercise, cold showers, good but hard things, etc.); without it, you'd probably just play Gameboy, cut class/work, and have a messy microwave. Then there is distress: 4 out of 5 Americans endure this sometimes-paralyzing level of worry every day. Distress leads to accelerated aging, fatigue, bad health, bad skin, impaired memory and concentration. Sheesh!

    • 🍎 Andrew's Take. Sustained high stress is terrible for you. You know when you have it. I have had it, especially when running my own business. It can be brutal. But you must address it, because nature does not care and before you know it you can be spiraling without anything to grab onto because your nails are nubs and your fingers hurt. Start simple: with the sun, pure water, many steps, doing shit.

  • 🐒 The flaneur. This old-timey word is for a person that strolls around town with a discerning gaze, seeing the world as if for the first time. S/he tries to see things for what they really are without getting attached to them or an outcome. But I like how this mindset applies to health. Doing a push-up slowly, feeling the muscles in your back, chest, and triceps work. Eating a meal at half-speed and watching what happens. That honeycrisp apple hits a little different.

    • 🍎 Andrew's Take. I did this during my little burpee workout the other day. I let go of the fact that I've done the workout hundreds of times now. It was kind of WILD. I felt odd, energized, strong, juiced.

  • 🕊️ Tweet of the Day. This lowkey is not too far off from the normie diet in this country. The looming global recession will make the distinction even clearer.
