Libido = good sign

Issue #088

Beauty is the best form of torture on the ugly. Anon

G-Morning 🦁 This is Andrew's Apples, the health email that kills. Gimme 2 min. Let's go.

  1. 🍆 Libido = good sign. Setting aside the concept of a *spirit*, libido is the life force in humans. And there is evidence to suggest that testosterone and sexual desire are by and large higher in healthy men and women. Someone once told me that the best way to stay young (glowing skin, erect posture, low body fat %, etc.) is act like the young. Let's be blunt on what that means: running and jumping around, fucking, leaving the home often, petting every dog, toying around aimlessly, peeing your pants from laughter.

    1. 🍎 Andrew's Take: American sex culture finds itself in a paradox: the most liberal place on earth and yet still so puritanical when it comes to sex (Middle East is next level here lmao). It's kind of like: umm, pick one? Lol. Yes, there are fuccbois out there with high body counts of low quality sex. High quality sex (in low to medium quantities), anyone honest or buzzed can tell you, makes them feel better. In every area of their life. And let's also debunk that only men like to c*me... lots of data on this. Maybe guys just suck at s*x (what good can come from being holed up in your apt, poasting on twitter and buying worthless NFTs?); as a counterexample, select indigenous tribes don't let young men marry until they're "manly enough" and so - get this - they practice with the married women, learning the ropes in the bedroom. Parents are supposed to prepare their offspring for the cold world, right? Well, that's one way to do it.

  2. 🩸 Inflammation and cancer. Lives are saved in the kitchen before the gym (sprint, lift) or the bedroom (sex, zzz). When you diet is shit, your cells and tissue suffer from inflammation, which is all around bad. Namely, it increases the risk of cancer. The literature says to eat more organic plant foods, focus on omega-3 fats, and limit processed foods (center of the grocery store in general).

    1. 🍎 Andrew's Take: Anything bad for your cells, like inflammation, means your mitochondria are weakened, which means your body gets less efficient at producing energy... and from there it all - and I mean ALL - goes downhill, gang.

  3. 🕯️ Sleep like a babe. Ashwagandha is a powerful adaptogenic herb that helps your body manage stress. Used in ancient Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for thousands of years, it too has anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, hemopoietic, and rejuvenating properties. Placebo effect is real, but ashwagandha has been shown to be 9x more efficacious than control groups... pretty insane! Plus you'll sleep like a babe.

    1. 🍎 Andrew's Take: It's common today in the US to equate health with new "innovations" like a DTC meal kit or pink smoothies or "Talk to the hand till I get my coffee" t-shirts. But really, it almost always stems back to sun, sleep, sex, and diet. And in the words of the Princess Bride: anyone who says differently is selling something.

  4. 🕊️ Tweet of the Day. Like: grandpa walks, soaking in the sun, and listening to happy video game music.
