Gimme some sugar
Issue #064
You either chopping wood or pushing paper. Anon.
GM π¦ This is Andrew's Apples, the health email that makes you feel something. Gimme 2 min. Let's go.
π§― Burning out. Now more than ever, people need to be their own best hype-man. Yesterday my baby sis (21) showed me one of the latest snapchat face filters; I peed my pants lol'ing. When I regained consciousness, I realized how darkly addictive it was, if only for 10 seconds. With everything happening around the globe right now, it is easier than ever to just hide in one of these apps. There are ways to deal with this shit tho: take small breaks from the phone, go on DND mode, unsubscribe to those newspapers you think you "need" (you don't), turn off push notifications, switch your screen to black and white (my favorite), and finally if you are seriously depressed talk to someone. Even me. In a seemingly dark world, people are your beacon of light. <3
π€ Black out. A friendly reminder that you are not different: you still need 7-9 hours of sleep a night. This may seem like a Russian stoicism tip, and it is. As Dr. Thomas Roth said βThe number of people who can survive on five hours of sleep or less without any impairment, expressed as a percent of the population, and rounded to a whole number, is zero.β Math: YOU multiplied by zero equals zero. Don't be a Zero!!! Every snowflake is unique but it's still a snowflake.
πͺ Gimme some sugar. Sugar, like way too many words in the English language, has countless synonyms. And although under a different name, sugar is still sugar. The most common of these include: cane sugar, brown sugar, agave nectar, coconut sugar, honey, maple syrup, brown rice syrup, and beet sugar. Do not be fooled, comrade.
βοΈ Tattoos. This tweet below. To be clear, I think tattoos either rule or reek of tackiness... no in between. Not knocking tattoos at all, rather I am thinking about "tattoos" in the form of identity politics. We see it today as flags and yard-signs and t-shirts... begging for approval from strangers regarding some abstract political position. I agree with Paul Graham when he says identities make you stupid. Imagine getting a tattoo of a maxim and having to forever defend it, even if you change, evolve, move forward, upward.

How do you like them Apples? If you ever need anything, hit reply. Love hearing from readers.
