GM 🦁 This is Andrew's Apples, the 2-min health email that has the brevity of a TikTok but without all of that satanic artless energy. Let's go. 

• 📵 Louis CK phone diet. Louis C.K. was a guest on Rogan two weeks back. At one point he talked about (a) how nobody on Twitter means what they say and (b) how he uses his iPhone like a flip phone. Meaning, he only keeps the following apps on his phone: telephone, text, email, and map.

  • 🍎 Andrew's Take. It's easy for a legendary multimillionaire comic to only use a couple apps (he allegedly also keeps a "writing laptop" that doesn't get internet); I don't think Louis needs to check how much his crypto is tanking on Coinbase or watch some political dumpster fire on YouTube. I was just staring at my phone and I probably use 5% of my apps on a daily basis. Hand me my pistol - it's time to hunt.

• 🥩 Whole Frauds? So, Whole Foods Market (lovingly dubbed "Whole Paycheck") is being sued over its "No Antibiotics, Ever" slogan. A lab says it found antibiotics in the grocer's private label beef. More details to follow.

  • 🍎 Andrew's Take. Despite what you may think about the 500-store chain (its $10 bananas, its parent in Amazon, its ability to suck you in for hours when you only needed one avocado), it's overall the best store in the US with scale. You probably don't want the same labs to GO OFF on Aldi and Walmart and learn what they find. BUT, it's also a sad day in that it could mean that increasingly even the 'best' stores are cutting corners to beef their margins.

• 🍄 Shrooms for your alcoholism. A new study from JAMA (v respected) found that psilocybin (active ingredient from magic mushrooms), when combined with talk therapy, can dramatically reduce consumption in heavy drinkers. More than 80% in the psychedelic group vs. 50% in the control group. The thinking is that psilocybin rewires the parts of the brain associated with addictive habits. 

  • 🍎 Andrew's Take. Eminem told the kids "Don't do drugs, drugs are bad"... but he was on drugs when he made The Slim Shady and The Marshall Mathers, two LPs that flipped the genre on its head.

• 🕊️ Tweet of the Day. Personally, my dad writes his texts like they're emails. Always ending with a "Love, [new line] Dad". Love you too, pop.
