Good morning 🦁 This is Andrew's Apples, the health email that's light yet heavy, like a hot air balloon with a huge smiley face on it. Two min. Let's go.

  1. 🥥 Coconut oil pulling. Stemming from Ayurvedic medicine, coconut oil pulling is the act of sucking, pushing, and pulling one tbsp of virgin coconut oil through your teeth and gums. Goal is to do it 1x/day and for 15-20 min. Why? Because oral health is reflected everywhere in the body; e.g. tooth decay and gingivitis is linked to hypertension and increased risk of heart attacks.

    1. 🍎 Andrew's Take: On my broken record shit here, but often the best things for you are simple, free or near free, and super effective. Coconut oil is divine to cook with, great for your skin topically, visually even looks healthy, and jacks up your immune system. Them kids go nuts for coconuts!!lol!!

  2. 🧸 Skinny girl tip. Hate fasting or any sort of calorie restriction, but know that you should? Chew sugar-free gum. It helps in the morning if you are unusually hungry (even if you typically skip breakfast). Some beet root powder juice and/or a glass of lemon-lime electrolyte water before you hit the caffeine is a nice morning complement to stave off cravings. Remember: humans for most of our history did not snack nor "graze" lmfao. It is literally the practice of livestock.

    1. 🍎 Andrew's Take: I like spearmint Trident for reg gum and cinnamon Lucy if I want a little afternoon nicotine pick-me-up once the coffee runs dry. For those wondering, I chew about 2 pieces of the nicotine gum a day, and feel no sort of withdrawal if I run out for several days at a time. Easy to low-dose it and be fine.

  3. 📺 Trustless media. It should come as no surprise that, per a new Reuters study, trust in media dropped to a comical 26%. This is the lowest of any country studied. TV and newspaper dying (been happening for decades, y'all), while online/social media killing. Of the study, 15% respondents said they consumed no news (sounds like nirvana tbh) and 42% try to avoid it.

    1. 🍎 Andrew's Take: This tbh is better suited for The Andrew Sunday Review, but I'll leave you with this short video. These people ain't no dummies - they know the business they're in: Fear, Hate, Talking Heads, Pillow Ads, and many a hair plug. And it's making our kiddos fat.

  4. 🕊️ Tweet of the Day. You think you know a thing or two about love or about sex, but then you listen. To Lana, Leonard Cohen, Led Zeppelin, or Amy Winehouse and you realize... that life is too short to consume mediocrity. Either go camp (so bad it's good) or go excellent (I'd rather be pegged "pretentious" than watch fucking Frasier). It's the 6s and 7s - that lifeless indecisive sad middle - you should aim to avoid.
